Pots for Poinsettias

Last year we received a Christmas tin full of popcorn.
After the popcorn was eaten (which didn't take long), I was wondering what to do with the tin.

Put your poinsettias in it!
Just drop the whole pot in there, shiny paper wrapping and all.
So, cute.

Dickens Christmas Village

Happy Friday!

Just another taste of my Dickens Christmas Village.
Chancery Corner via www.foobella.blogspot.com

This is the Chancery Corner building, which is all of 8 inches tall and even has a window you can peak into on Christmas dinner.  Now tell me. Who couldn't fall in love with that tiny little birdbath and cardinals?

My love of Christmas and all the tiny Christmas houses started with my Mom who, in my opinion, is the Christmas Queen. The word that always comes to mind when I think about my childhood Christmases is "magical". Mom knows how to do it up right, and still does to this day even with four grown kids and two grown grandkids.

But the Christmas houses are what got me the most. Mom has an entire little village going on that I love to set up for her every year, and I've been collecting Dickens Village pieces of my own, trying to catch up!

Last year, Jason helped me set up Mom's village below. That boy is a natural.

Who else is decorating this weekend? What traditions do you love? Have a great one!

Cheap Drop Cloth Curtains II

Last year I posted here about the phenomenon that is cheap drapery made of canvas drop cloth. I owe you a picture of the finished product. I did not go with any sewing. Instead, we used drapery clips. It worked great and it was so easy. I have yet to dye them or do anything else with them as I had originally planned.

The only two negatives were the fact that I bought the three drop cloths on the right years before the two on the left. So, the ones on the left have a seam going through middle, as you can see. Also, even though they were all washed, the ones on the left did not shrink up as much, so they are quite a bit longer. But hey, it works for my purposes, and it makes the room much cozier than having huge naked windows.

I'm happy!

Holiday Blog Banner

Check out my new Holiday blog banner. I set up my Dickens Village in my boyfriend's house. He has much more room for my massive amounts of Christmas decor. (As it is, my huge nativity is set up on my dining room table.)

May I just say how happy I am that he likes this collection of mine as much as I do? I think we might have the start of a "tiny" obsession on our hands.

~~~~ooOOOoo~~~~
p.s. The fluffy snow and name tag were added with www.picnik.com. I love that site for quick and easy photo edits.
